The sun is shining! | Summer

How wonderful it is when the sun shines in the summer! Clean laundry flutters outside, the children play with water, and you feel like washing the car. The sun gives warmth and brings joy. But sunlight also reveals a lot. Now you can clearly see the dust on the computer screen, and the smudges on the window suddenly look very dirty. But once everything is cleaned, the sun makes everything shine even more!

 In the Bible, the book of God, we also read about the sun. The sun is the source of light. God is its Maker. God created everything, including people. The first people knew Him perfectly, and their lives were good and pure as God intended. But unfortunately, it did not stay that way. The first people were disobedient to God. They wanted to be in charge themselves. After that, everything changed. In the Bible, the book of God, we read that our lives are no longer good and pure. You notice this when you experience pain and sorrow, when there are quarrels and mistakes are made. When there is lying or when people speak badly about others. All dirt and dust that needs to be removed! Through the light of God, this comes to light!  

In the Bible, we also read how our lives can become good and pure again. How the dirty dust, sin, can be removed. This is only possible through faith in Jesus, the Son of God. He is the Light of the world. He brings our impurity to light and can deliver us from it. He sacrificed His life to make our lives good and pure again. He is the Sun of righteousness. He makes straight (good) what is crooked (impure). That gives warmth and sets free, and that truly brings joy! That is why Jesus says:  

John 8, verse 12
I am the Light of the world; whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
